This unit is tucked away in town one mile south of the Lane County Fairgrounds between College Hill and Friendly Park. Easy to find, one block off Jefferson Street less than 2 miles from the Interstate.
We have two levels with full kitchen and absolute privacy that is excellent for either short or long term stays. Sitting room instantly converts to a bedroom behind its solid panel door. Carpets on the first, older wood floor above on the second floor. Abundant cabinet space.
Fruit trees on the property provide plums, pears, and delicious figs that are giant, purple, and going off right now not two steps from the window. Upstairs loft overlooks our garden and Friendly Park. The Park was recently refurbished with new structures, a sand/water feature, and is now ADA compliant. Many old oak trees provide the park and our yard with mottled sun all day long.
Excellent for people who want some seclusion while interacting with parents near public spaces. Its an excellent place to meet young families from the neighborhood, as are the beloved Friendly Market/Cafe, and J-Tea International for select tea from Taiwan just one block off the park.
Adjacent to the Airbnb, also alongside the park is our second Airbnb: the living quarters at our pottery studio, where you can arrange pottery lessons on the kick and electric wheels. Visit our site Daniels Family Pottery, and find us on bookface for recent updates and reviews. In addition to lessons we sell handmade pots and accept commissions for tea and tableware.
Private entry from the street through the big red door. Backyard gate allows access to Friendly Park.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the main house in front of the in-law unit and will be available to help! We have chickens at our Airbnb next door and will deliver fresh eggs with request.
Our Bnb is in the quiet, beautiful, tree-covered “Friendly Neighborhood.” The back yard sits adjacent to Friendly Park and Playground. We are a two block walk away to Friendly Street Market. Friendly has a great deli, beer on tap, and every Friday at 5pm is free wine tasting, often followed by live music. We’re really close to Hult Center, Shedd Institute of the Arts, and WOW Hall events, but just far enough away to be considered quiet and relaxing for sleep.
Half of a mile away at Woodfield Station is where you’ll find extensive grocery shopping at Market of Choice and Sunrise Asian Food Market, and restaurants at Laughing Planet, 16 Tons Cafe. Less than one mile from Great Harvest Bread Company, Metropol Bakery, Tsunami Books, Turtles Bar & Grill. The University of Oregon, Whiteaker Area, Kesey Square and the Lane County Fairgrounds are near. Always secure, peaceful, safe, and quiet.
One block from public bus transportation, Lane Transit [LTD]. Lots of on-street parking. Walkable to shopping. Flat enough for easy bicycling in three directions. To the south is the rolling countryside for sport rides. Less than two miles from Downtown, the University Area or The Whiteaker. A longtime professional taxi driver lives across the street. We will provide free pick up at the Amtrak Train Station. VW Airport shuttle available by arrangement.
